The Future of Central Asia

MODULE DESCRIPTION
The training module discusses geopolitical and geo-economic interests and views of Central Asian countries today and their bilateral and multilateral relations. Current diplomatic negotiations are analyzed in the context of the Post-COVID-19 crisis. The module examines the future of sustainable development, the green and circular economy and equitable development of the region.
METHODOLOGY
- Presentation: The training module will provide information based on first-hand experiences of economic and political negotiations, the global agenda, national programmes and regional institutions.
- Round table discussions: Drafting a project-concept for the sustainable development agenda of a Central Asian country.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Identify and assess regional geopolitical and geo-economic interests in Central Asia.
- Draft and evaluate projects on sustainable development of the specific Central Asian country.
- Analyze and examine negotiation tools and diplomatic efforts on the bilateral and multilateral levels.
- Promote and implement the UN SDG 2030 in the context of Central Asia.
AUDIENCE
-The training module is designed for decision-makers, policy advisors in government, the private sector, international organizations, think tanks, national/international consultants. Attendance is limited to 15 participants to allow discussion, group interaction and exchange of views.

Training materials include Power Point slides used during the workshop and PDF documents on strategic foresight and scenario-building will be given to participants.
